Donation: The new fridge

KIND members of the Helensburgh Lion Club have donated a new counter fridge for the tea bar at the Vale of Leven Hospital.

The voluntary service is run and co-ordinated by the WRVS.

Grace McDermid, from the organisation, said: "Shortly after we had given the hospital £10,000 for equipment at the end of 2011, the previous fridge 'died' and we were saving up to replace it.

"Pat Hanley had been visiting the Tea Bar one day, saw our need and went back to his fellow Lions and asked if there was a way of them helping us. They agreed to make us one of their deserving cases

"This is the result, and on behalf of the patients, their visitors and the hospital staff we the Tea Bar Co-ordinators would like to say a heartfelt thank you indeed to all the Lions for their thoughtfulness and generosity."
