Stephen Devenay, 56, was heard to be continually shouting and swearing at his Westcliff home as his neighbours gathered in another flat on January 12.

Police were called but couldn’t initially hear a disturbance and left before returning later and heard Devenay shouting “child murderer”.

Last week he appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court after previously admitting his guilt.

Ms Campbell defending said Devenay, who has since moved away, had difficulties with alcohol but stressed it was no excuse for bad behaviour.

Sheriff Simon Fraser sentencing ordered Devenay to be the subject of a community payback order which requires him to be supervised for a year.
