The rare conifer trees have been planted by the Woodland Trust Scotland at Lang Craigs near Dumbarton, forming part of the National Tree Collections of Scotland.
The species planted in the collection include giant coast redwoods which can grow up to 379 feet tall, taller than Dumbarton Rock.
Roy Barlow, from the Woodland Trust Scotland, said: “We’re delighted to have been selected to host the newest of the tree collections as part of our project to create new woodland at Lang Craigs.
“Lang Craigs is next to Overtoun Estate which has many exotic trees in its grounds. This collection will provide another interesting feature for visitors and it is also part of an important project to protect some of the world’s rarest trees.” The tree species included in the new collection are cedar of Lebanon (Cedrus libani), coast redwood (Sequoia sempervirens ) and Serbian spruce (Picea omorika).
