The new Electronic Information Prescription system sends appropriate sexual health information and advice to the patient’s mobile phone or home computer following a diagnosis.
Often after a patient receives a diagnosis from health care professionals they may want or need additional information.
With the new system doctors, nurses and sexual health professionals can instantly send an information referral form through the National Sexual Health System (NaSH) to the library at Sandyford Central in Glasgow.
Library staff identify appropriate information and web links from trusted and reliable sources and send these directly to the patient.
Those who prefer to receive printed information can still do so, and those attending Sandyford Central can call into the library direct from their consultation.
