The 35-year-old victim was taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital in Paisley in the early hours of Sunday morning after sustaining a number wounds outside a house on Whiteford Avenue.
Police say he received “numerous stitches” and was kept in overnight.
Police confirm they have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with the incident – he will appear in court later this week.
Inspector Neil Smith told the Reporter: “I would appeal to anyone with further information to contact us on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
