The drama Home Sweet Home is used to prevent accidents and promote safety among elderly residents of sheltered housing in Dumbarton and the Vale and focuses on important issues including fire in the home, trips and falls, security and bogus callers.
The play was commissioned by West Dunbartonshire’s Community Safety Partnership to get the home safety message across to local elderly people by informing them of the simple measures they can take to prevent accidents.
Performed by the Kickstart Theatre Company, it has been staged at sheltered housing complexes based in the Alexandria’s Gray Street and West Bridgend in Dumbarton.
Councillor David McBride, convener of neighbourhood services said: “The play delivers potentially life-saving messages in a way which will engage residents. It’s an example of the great partnership working which exists in West Dunbartonshire.”
