The Community Learning and Development (CLD)service has been awarded a Standards Mark for its employee training.
CLD delivers the learning element of the council’s Working 4 U service and provides opportunities for residents to gain recognised qualifications, improve skills, and increase confidence.
West Dunbartonshire Council (WDC) is one of only four authorities in Scotland to be given the award from the CLD Standards Council for Scotland.
The award panel commended the “clear commitment” shown by the CL&D service to providing high quality professional development opportunities to its staff and staff from partner organisations. CL&D helps over 4,700 residents every year and runs courses across West Dunbartonshire at community and early education centres, primary and secondary schools and the West Employability Hub.
Councillor Kath Ryall, convener of Corporate Services, said: “As a council we are committed to the training and development of our staff throughout their career to enhance their skills and help them to develop in their role.
“I would like to congratulate the Community Learning and Development team for achieving this quality mark in recognition of their efforts as a service.”
