This Saturday and Sunday the town’s Artizan Shopping Centre will be staging its own Commonwealth Games Weekend, complete with athletics track, medals, winners’ podium and a giant stopwatch.
The fun two-day sport-themed event is aimed at getting all the family involved in Games-fever and with plenty of fun activities for all ages.
Louise Scott, Marketing Manager for the Artizan Shopping Centre, said the Games in Glasgow will be a “fantastic event” and said Artizan organisers wanted to give everyone a chance to win a medal here in Dumbarton.
She added: “You won’t have had to dedicate four years of your life to train for our events – everyone can be a medal-winner and have a lot of fun as well by showing off your strength, skill and sense of style.
“There will be Pictionary, thumb wrestling and against-the-clock events like eating Skittles sweets with chopsticks – all aimed at getting people in the Games mood and giving Dumbarton a head start in the medals table.” The Artizan Centre Commonwealth Games Weekend is on Saturday and Sunday, July 19 and 20, from 11am to 4pm.
