Speaking to he Reporter on Friday, a spokeswoman for the frozen goods store confirmed there was an incident at the shop.

She added: “The staff came out to see if everybody was okay, which they were, and police arrived on the scene.” Police say the alleged incident is thought to have caused extensive damage and confirmed there had been an arrest.

Inspector Neil Smith told added: “The Astra was being driven by a 63-year-old man who is alleged to have failed a roadside breath test.

"He was arrested and will appear from custody at Dumbarton Sheriff Court in the near future. No one was injured during this incident.”
