Jennifer Wrethman lost an amazing 10 stones and dropped seven dress sizes since she first started the club.

The 28-year-old told the Reporter: “When I was bridesmaid at my sister Louise’s wedding in Cuba in October 2011, I wore a size 26 dress. I felt fat and frumpy, hot and uncomfortable in the heat.

“The other bridesmaids were slim and beautiful. I hated myself and was so self conscious about going to the pool.

“So when my boyfriend proposed to me, I made up my mind there and then that I wasn’t going to be a ‘fat bride’.” A determined Jennifer then set out to reach her goal and joined Christine Warren’s Slimming World group at St. Martin’s Church Hall, Renton in January of 2012.

She continued: “My mum came along with me for support. I was very apprehensive but everyone was so friendly and supportive.

“When Christine told me all the ‘free’ foods I would be able to eat without weighing or measuring, I couldn’t wait to get started.

“It is not a diet, it is a healthy eating plan and for me a lifestyle change. I am never hungry and love making the recipes that we share at group and from the Slimming World free website. Weekends for me used to mean takeaways.

“Before I joined Slimming World exercise was minimal as I would get out of breath walking or going upstairs. Now I love going to the gym and power walking. I have so much more energy now”.

In June of last year, the big day finally arrived for Jennifer, when she walked down the aisle after losing a staggering 8 1/2 stones.

She added: “Now I have achieved my target weight after losing 10 stone. I have been shopping for size 12/14 dresses and swimwear as we are going on a family holiday to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday.

“This time, I can’t wait to get onto the plane and fasten my seatbelt and tighten it. It was so difficult fitting into the seat before, I always had to lift up the arm rest to save it digging into my thigh.

“I have so much confidence now — a new woman.” If you want to join Christine’s groups head along to St. Martin’s Church Hall, Renton every Tuesday and Wednesday, morning and evening, or phone 07873 392559 for more details.
