A meeting is being held in the town on Thursday where residents can view the proposals for a multi-million pound care home and day centre at Crosslet House.

The meeting, which will be held in The Crosslet Centre, Crosslet Road, from 7pm to 9pm, will also allow the council to share its plans for the site.

The plans show the layout has been designed to utilise the outside space to create partially enclosed safe and accessible communal courtyards where residents can enjoy the impressive surroundings.

Max Agnew, care home development manager, said: “We are keen to hear the views of residents and following our last public meeting we have received great support for the project.

“This meeting will be another opportunity for residents to come along, see the artist’s impressions and also speak to officers who are working on the project.” Visitors to the meeting will have the opportunity to speak to people working on the project, get further information and comments on the proposals and view artist’s impressions of the new buildings including examples of the internal and external layout of the home.

Last year, the Reporter revealed plans had been approved to merge existing care homes Langcraigs, Willox Park and Dalreoch House care homes along with Old Kilpatrick’s Mount Pleasant Care Home into one large ‘super care home’ — there will also be a day centre at the site.

Speaking previously on the plans, Hazel Sorrell, Leven councillor, and depute spokeswoman for Social Work and Health, said: “I am delighted with the proposed modern designs of the new care home and day centre which will include extensive gardens and open spaces where residents and visitors can sit and enjoy the open space within safe and secure gardens.” Residents who have questions or have any suggestions can email wdchcp@west-dunbarton.gov.uk or write to the Care Home Development Manager, CHCP, Council Headquarters, Garshake Road, Dumbarton, G82 3PU The planning application DC14/184 can be viewed at www.west-dunbarton.gov.uk/planning-building-standards/planning-applications.
