Last week the Reporter spoke to Paul’s family and daughter Jennifer, 24, who pleaded for her dad to come home.

Police have received new information over the weekend that the 53 year-old has been seen in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, where Jennifer lives with her boyfriend.

Jennifer told the Reporter: “There was an anonymous call that said they’d seen him in the town centre. He’d been to visit me a lot and its a small town so he knows his way around quite well.” Jennifer, who has been staying with family in Dumbarton since her dad’s disappearance, thinks he may have been trying to visit her.

She added: “The police are taking the CCTV from the town centre for us to confirm whether or not its him. Hopefully we’ll get that done today (Monday) and the police can start to track his movements. It’s nothing concrete, but it gives us some hope. The police have been excellent, we just want our dad home now. His granddaughter Kyla really misses him, we all miss him.” Jennifer’s boyfriend is currently staying at their house in the Midlands but Paul has not been in contact.

Paul’s son, Paul Jnr, said police have been in constant contact with the family as they try to trace the missing grandfather.

Thought to be suffering from depression, Paul went missing over two weeks ago from his home on Whiteford Avenue. The dad-of-three left the house at 11am on September 28, and hasn’t been seen or heard from since, leaving his phone and medication behind. There have been a few reported sightings of Paul, originally from Coatbridge, but none confirmed so far. Police have asked that anyone with any information contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
