St Kessog’s Primary, Levenvale Primary and Vale of Leven Academy will share almost £6,000 of funding to encourage young people to become more active in sport.
The funding was made available through the Big Lottery Fund’s 2014 Communities programme which aims to stimulate grassroots involvement in sports and physical activity.
Jackie Baillie MSP said: “I was delighted to hear that three more schools have received notice of successful funding applications.
“Each of the three schools are planning an exciting programme of extra-curricular activities and I hope that the projects are successful in encouraging more young people to get active.
“I would encourage any other schools or community groups in Dumbarton, Vale of Leven or Helensburgh interested in lottery funding to visit www.biglotteryfund.org.uk/scotland or contact my office and I will be glad to assist where I can.”.
