Scotland TranServ’s contractor, Highway Barrier Solutions, will carry out the works over three nights between 8pm and 6am from June 22. Low impact traffic management will be in place with single lane closures in both directions.

This project comes as part of an overall £4m investment from Transport Scotland in the maintenance of the A898 Erskine Bridge, over the next 12 months, to improve the long term resilience of this structure for generations to come.

Gordon Wilson, contract director, Scotland TranServ, told the Reporter: “It is essential that we reinstate the white line markings on the A898 Erskine Bridge to ensure the safety of over 42,000 motorists using this route each day.

“We understand the importance of this route and its links between Glasgow and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs therefore we have done everything we can to programme the works overnight when traffic flows are lighter; therefore ensuring delays are minimal.” Motorists can keep up to date with real time traffic information by visiting the Traffic Scotland website and following their Twitter feed. Advanced warning signs will also be in place on the approach to the bridge.
