The incident occured at around 10pm on Sunday, August 23. In a similar incident, a hopper window on a First Bus was damaged on Stirling Road, Balloch, around 6.10pm on Monday, August 24.

Inspector Neil Smith said: “As well as causing considerable damage and expense, senseless acts such as these could also have far more serious consequences. Had any of these stones struck either the driver’s windscreen or any of the passengers on board, then there is a real possibility that we would now be dealing with a tragedy.

“I would ask for help from the public in eleiminating this type of behaviour by reporting any information to police on non-emergency 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
