Scotland TranServ has warned of delays on the Erskine Bridge as a lane shuts for four days of 'essential inspections'.
The offside lane on both carriageways will be closed from 7am until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday this weekend (October 17 and 18) and the weekend after next (October 31 and November 1).
Scotland TranServ’s engineers, on behalf of Transport Scotland, will carry out detailed inspections to the two above deck towers which provide cable support to the Bridge.
A CCTV camera located at the top of the south tower will also be replaced with a newer, more efficient system.
Contract director for Scotland TranServ, Gordon Wilson said: “A series of detailed inspections must be carried out to the towers which support Erskine Bridge to ensure that it is maintained to industry standards.
“We have programmed this work over two weekends when traffic flows are lighter however road users should plan ahead to avoid delays.” Heavy and light recovery vehicles will be stationed at the north and south of the bridge throughout the works.
