A FOOTBALL daft couple has tied the knot at Ibrox Stadium -- in a Rangers-themed wedding.

Amanda and Tommy Notman, who met through their love of the club eight years ago, were married at Ibrox - the home of Rangers Football Club - earlier this month.

The footie-loving pair, who spent their honeymoon in the Maldives, wed in front of 70 guests in the stadium’s Blue Room.

The completely blue and white wedding, the colours of the Glasgow club, saw Amanda, 36, walk down the aisle in royal blue shoes and Tommy, 43, in a Ranger's kilt.

Amanda even held a small bouquet made from blue and white satin roses - that looked identical to a football.

The council worker, from Clydebank, West Dunbartonshire, said Ibrox was the only place she could imagine getting hitched.

She said: "Tommy and I met through our mutual love of Rangers.

"We met on a fan group on Facebook about eight years ago.

"We have both been huge fans of the club our whole lives, so it was the only place we even thought about getting married.

"We had the cake made with a hidden panel inside that had the Rangers badge and Union Jack and the cake topper had Tommy and me in Rangers scarves.

"My bridesmaids were in blue and I wore royal blue shoes -- which counted as my something blue too.

"Tommy, his best man, and all the groomsmen wore the Rangers tartan kilts and we had blue and white seat covers in the blue room where we had the ceremony.

"We are both season ticket holders, we go to all the home and away games.

"It's really our second home, so no one was really surprised we chose there to get married - everything about the wedding was just us."

The couple had the chance to get special pictures outside the stadium, sitting in the empty stands, and coming down the tunnel during their big day on July 7.

But the venue was a big risk for the pair, who were told when they booked the football ground their wedding could be cancelled if a match was later scheduled.

Amanda said: "We were told if any games got arranged the wedding would have to be cancelled.

"It was very nerve-racking, but we knew it was the only place we could get married.

"We knew it was the closed season and the World Cup was on, so we thought it was unlikely any games would be on.

"But the Friday before the wedding there did end up being a friendly on."

Tommy, 43, who is a window installer, popped the question, much to Amanda's surprise, in 2016 while on a romantic holiday in the Dominican Republic.

Amanda said: "The engagement was so romantic and totally unexpected.

"We always knew we would get married but it was still a total shock.

"We got engaged on July 7, 2016, so when July 7 this year was available for the wedding we knew we had to go for it."
