Hit musical Hamilton is coming to Edinburgh this year and will run over February, March and April.

The show, created by award-winning actor-songwriter Lin-Manuel Miranda, tells the story of one of America's lesser-known Founding Fathers, Alexander Hamilton.

The influential figure, who was an immigrant from the West Indies and son of Ayrshire-born James A Hamilton, became George Washington's right-hand man during the Revolutionary War.

Blending the sounds of hip-hop, jazz and blues, Hamilton tells "the story of America then, as told by America now."
