A YOB, who beat up a man and then struck him over the head with a pot, will be sentenced this week.

Thug Martin Hall, 29, of Alexandria, is due to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court, having pled guilty to a reduced charge on March 31, this year.

Hall, of McColl Avenue, Tullichewan, carried out the vicious attack on a man at a flat in Cullen Street, Alexandria on May 31, 2015.

The court heard this week from prosecutor Carol Cameron how Hall punched his victim on the head and then struck him over the head with a pot to his injury.

Hall was originally charged with knocking his victim to the ground and attempting to strike him with a machete to his severe injury and permanent disfigurement, but the Crown accepted a not guilty plea to that part of the charge.

Sheriff Simon Pender, who is due to sentence Hall, deferred sentence on him last Thursday to obtain further information about the brute from the High Court in Glasgow. Bail was continued.
