CHILDREN and their parents are being invited to Vale of Leven Golf Club later this month for a spooky Halloween-themed family disco.

The event takes place on Saturday, October 28 and runs from 7pm to 11.30pm.

All proceeds from this fun family event will be used to help find a cure for the children battling ROHHAD.

One such youngster currently living with the condition is Alexandria boy Aaron Hunter.

In May The Reporter told how Hollywood star Robert Downey Jr proved a real life superhero when he spoke with the Vale boy.

Iron Man fan Aaron saw his dreams come true after his idol gave him a FaceTime call following a viral online appeal.

Aaron’s mum Elizabeth said Aaron was “absolutely delighted” when Robert Downey Jr rang.

Aaron called on the Avengers superhero for help in beating his deadly disease – Rapid-onset Obesity with Hypothalamic Dysfunction, Hypoventilation and Autonomic Dysregulation (ROHHAD).

It is an extremely rare, life-threatening, limiting, and complex medical condition affecting approximately just 100 children worldwide.

Looking ahead to this month's fundraiser a spokesperson said: "We have a fun fabulous evening planned for you with the incredible Stephen Dunn of Gracious Party’s entertaining all the family from 7pm until 11.30pm.

"There will be a delicious buffet, raffle with amazing prizes, glitter tattoos, games and best dressed adults and kids male and female!

"This event is always popular due to how much fun it is so please contact us asap to purchase your tickets."

Tickets are only £6 per adult, £4 per child or a family of 4 for £18.
