Far from being let off the hook though, Peter Moore, of O’Hare in the area, will return to court for sentencing next month.
That’s after the 28-year-old admitted stealing a fishing rod from a pawn shop in Dumbarton in June last year.
Appearing at Dumbarton Sheriff Court from custody last Tuesday, Moore also admitted stealing clothes worth £229.98 from New Look in the Artizan Centre.
He will return for sentencing on August 5 to allow for the preparation of a Criminal Justice and Social Work report.
He was remanded in custody until then.
