Iain Leitch, 37, had been drinking when he caused fear and alarm to other occupants by brandishing the knife at his home in Craig Avenue in the town on October 17 last year.
Sentence had previously been deferred to allow Leitch to be of good behaviour. Procurator fiscal Scott Simpson informed the court that since Leitch’s previous appearance the accused had had a procurator fiscal fine imposed for a minor matter.
Referring to the incident involving the knife, Leitch, who appeared without a solicitor, told the court: “I don’t have any recollection of what happened that night. I am on medication and shouldn’t have drank that night. I thought there were two guys behind the living room door waiting on me.” Sheriff Thomas Ward admonished Leitch.
