Remy McCumesty, from Alexandria, was appearing in the live final of Sky One’s Got To Dance on Friday as part of Dance Illusion, with a prize of £250,000 up for grabs.

This was the second time the former Vale of Leven Academy pupil has competed in the final — back in 2011 the-then 17-year-old reached the same stage with Fear of the Unknown.

In the end, dance duo Duplic8 — featuring 13-year-old Jak Tuite-Leach — were crowned the winners of the show, ahead of Dance Illusion and Bitter Harvest.

Dance Illusion were praised by all three judges — Ashley Banjo, Kimberly Wyatt and Adam Garcia — for their performance in front of the 6,000-strong audience at London’s Earls Court arena. A post on the group’s Facebook page after the final said: “We are so proud to have finished in the top three of Got To Dance. How incredible to have the three judges tell us our dancing and choreography was outstanding. We gave it our all.

“Huge thanks to our choreographer Robert Hamilton and a massive thanks for all your support. We are Dance Illusion and we live to dance.”
