Its understood that the man was hit by a Jaguar near to Cameron House Hotel at 3:50am on Sunday morning. The road was closed for around six-and-a-half-hours between Stoneymollan and the Arden roundabout following the incident.
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
