Forensic teams and police officers were called to a Vale housing estate today after a ‘serious incident’.

Residents at Nobleston, Bonhill, said several police cars and a forensic team were seen around a terraced house in the estate.

The police presence was noticed early in the morning and two officers remained on the scene this afternoon, one at the entrance to the back gardens of the row of homes and another in a police car parked at the front.

Residents said officers had been knocking on doors and interviewing people.

One woman, who did not want to be named, said: “We’ve just been told it’s a serious incident. There were a lot of police here earlier and people with forensic suits.

“The police have been around the doors. They came here around noon but we couldn’t tell them anything. I saw them earlier on going to other doors.” It is understood that officers were asking locals if they had heard or seen anything suspicious in the area since Saturday night.

A police spokesman said officers were dealing with a ‘serious incident’ and no further details were available.
