Thanks to special needs club helpers

COULD I, through the letters page, on behalf of myself, Michael and Catherine Rooney and Kate McIntyre, thank all our family and friends and the kind people of Bellsmyre, who sponsored our walk for St Peter's Special Needs Club before Christmas.

Also Bellsmyre Neighbourhood Forum, David Muir estate agents and PJ Stores, Bonhill Road, for continued help and support.

Thanks to their generosity the club visited the pantomime and were treated to a lovely meal and disco at the Railway Tavern on December 19.

A special thanks to Angela Smith and her staff for their hospitality, kindness and the lovely food served by quality chefs.

Thanks to my parents and family, and Amelda and Chrissy for raffle prizes, Chris Harkins for music and John Dunion for help with tickets.

St Peter's Special Needs has, for many years, held a big events involving special needs groups from all over Glasgow, and janitor Peter McFall was there from start to finish.

Peter helped people arriving in wheelchairs and even appearing as Santa with presents for the club, finishing a good evening.

He never sat at the top table with our distinguished guests, but was happy to mix with commoners like myself, and all at St Peter's Special Needs congratulate him.

An overall total of £1,195 was raised - thanks to you all.
