MY name is Grant Crawford, and I am a farmer in the Clare Valley in South Australia.
My great, great, great grandparents, Alexander and Grace Crawford lived in Argyllshire in the late 1800s.
Alexander’s son Neil emmigrated to Australia in 1839.
I am trying to find any living connections to this family still living the West Dunbartonshire area.
Neil had a brother Archibald who married Christian Carmichael in 1860.
They had a son, Alexander, and lived at 48 Church Street in 1913.
There was also a sister, Catherine, who married John Colquhoun in 1857.
They had three children - Janet, Alexander and Catherine - and lived at 69 Alexander Street, Alexandria.
There was a brother called Duncan who married Mary Livingstone, but appear to have no children
I am planning a trip to your area and I am really keen to find some connections.
