JACK Ross believes Dumbarton adopting a full-time football mentality has helped the Sons climb the league table.
Dumbarton went on a three-game winning run to take them to fourth position before Saturday's away clash against Forfar Athletic was called off due to the arctic weather.
The Sons showed their never-say-die spirit against Airdrie when they netted a last-gasp winner.
And the Sons assistant believes the Dumbarton players going into games with a professional attitude will help them claim promotion.
He told Sport Scene: "For me the challenge was striking a balance. Because it's part time football, it needs to be enjoyable and the players have other commitments outside of the game.
"But I wanted them to feel like they were professional players so it was about striking that balance.
"I have always tried to hammer home the professional aspect to them. What they have given me has been fantastic." FULL INTERVIEW IN THIS WEEK'S REPORTER
