The two organisations have been working in partnership to raise the profile and increase participation in the sport of badminton this year.

Coaches have been delivering taster sessions to Braehead, Knoxland and St Patrick’s Primary Schools.

The three schools were in attendance at the carnival, putting their new skills to the test.

The children took part got the opportunity to participate in a number of activities including “Beat the Pro” and “Super Skills” and also got the chance to test their speed at the “Agility Challenge” with prizes from Badminton Scotland up for grabs.

Laura Young from Sports Development was delighted with the event and said: “The Badminton Carnival has been fantastic and it has been great to see so many children involved in the sport. It is hoped that many of these children will now look to join an after-school club, community class or local badminton club as a result of the experience.”
