LOCH Lomond Rugby Club's P5 and P6 teams continued their recent good form when they travelled to Milngavie last weekend to play in West of Scotland's annual festival.

Lomond's P5 team went up against GHA in their first game. This was a rematch from Lomond’s last festival at Strathendrick.

The Bonhill side won the toss and elected to start with possession. Lomond’s handling and tackling were great and they took an early lead through a great solo run from Euan.

GHA fought back to take a 2-1 lead, this didn't last long and Lomond struck back with a well worked team try, every player got their hands on the ball before Logan finished the move off.

Once again GHA opened a two score cushion but Lomond weren't done and pushed hard in both attack and defence and pulled one try back through a well read interception from Gregor.

Ayr were next up. Lomond competed well against a big team with swinging tackles, but were out muscled.

Their final game was against West 1. Despite some great play, and brilliant team work, especially in the closing stages of the game when they kept possession well, Lomond just couldn't get over the try line.

The P6 team played 8 a-side games.

First they faced Falkirk and a great opening score from Jaime, with tremendous hands on the wing, started the day well.

However slack defence, from both sides, meant an open game which went to 2-2 at half time. The team were asked for more in the second half, but again lacked urgency and were quickly 4-2 down.

Try saving tackles from Rachel and Jarrid stopped Falkirk from scoring again, and some good counter attacks created scores for Declan and Ewan, with the game finishing 4-4.

The next match was against unknown opposition in Kinross. Lomond couldn’t match Kinross as they bossed proceedings.

In the final match Lomond hit back with a comprehensive victory over West one of their best performances in months.

Details of further fixtures and club details will be posted on Facebook, Loch Lomond Minis and Juniors.
