LOCH Lomond Rugby Club's S1/S2 side took home the trophy at last week's Hamilton Bulls RFC tournament.

The Bonhill side notched up an impressive four wins out of four to come out on top.

Loch Lomond’s first game was against Whitecraigs.

Tries from Minimunn (3), Josh and Patrick wrapped up a comfortable 31-0 win.

The second game had Loch Lomond up against the hosts, Hamilton Bulls RFC.

Minimunn continued his fine form to open the scoring and convert himself.

Straight from the restart, Hamilton pressed Lomond back into their half. After winning possession, they ran in their own try.

Will then set up Minimunn for another impressive try. Lomond missed the kick to move the score to 12-7.

The game was very even, with both teams cancelling each other out. Hamilton created an opening by quickly moving the ball out wide to run in for a try. Hamilton missed the kick to level the scores at 12-12.

Fancy footwork from Craig allowed him to touch down for Lomond to hit back, with the extras added.

Patrick scored Lomond’s fourth try to finish the game 24-12.

Lomond’s third game was against Kilmarnock RFC. Kilmarnock soon opened the scoring but missed the kick to make the score 0-5.

Kilmarnock soon ran in their second try, with the ball being moved out wide for the attacking player to outpace Lomond’s defence to score. Kilmarnock missed the kick to go 10-0 in the lead.

From a knock-on by Kilmarnock, Minimunn took a quick free kick which caught Kilmarnock unaware. He managed to get to the opposition’s 22-yard line before passing to Craig, who then moved the ball to the supporting Donald to run in Lomond’s first try. Lomond managed to make the conversion to make the score 10-7.

Lomond continued to press and were finally rewarded by Calum picking the ball up and forcing the ball over the line for a Lomond try. Despite missing the conversion, this exciting game finished 12-10 to Lomond.

Going into the last game, Loch Lomond needed to triumph against West of Scotland to win the tournament. They delivered in style with a 31-0 win. Minimunn (2), Luke, Calum, Craig and Josh ran in the tries.

Loch Lomond received the winner’s trophy to be crowned S1/S2 Hamilton Tournament winners.
