Christian Nadé is reportedly heading over to Northern Irish side Linfield for a trial.

According to the Scottish Sun, the former Dumbarton striker is heading over for a try-out with Linfield, who are currently managed by ex Rangers' man David Healy.

The Frenchman was in scintillating form last year for the Sons, scoring seven goals in his short spell with the club as he helped ensure their survival in the Scottish Championship.

The 31-year-old's most memorable games for the Dumbarton include his first career hat-trick against Alloa, and his first goal for the Sons at home to Hibs, winning the game 3-2.

The Frenchman has played for numerous Scottish clubs, having spells at Hamilton, Raith, Dundee and Hearts.

But Nadé is a free agent again after his short-term contract with the Sons expired at the end of the season, and the Windsor Park side are keen to have a closer look at him.

Morton were also interested in him, but no firm offer has been made by Jim Duffy's side.

Stevie Aitken previously told Reporter Sport that any deal to bring back Nadé “is dead”. The Sons boss said the club had offered him a deal, but the player wanted to go full-time.

If he does join up with the Northern Irish side, then he could possibly return to The Rock this year. With the reformatting of the Scottish Challenge Cup - now the Irn-Bru Cup, Northern Irish and Welsh clubs now compete in the competition.
