Alan Martin – 7

Forced into a save late on but rarely troubled throughout the day and could do little to prevent the goal.

Craig Pettigrew – 6

Had a quieter afternoon than usual.

Daniel Harvie – 5

Targeted heavily in the air by Saints, and was left alone with Andy Stirling leaving him isolated at times Gregor Buchanan – 7 Good shift by the centre back, dealt well with threats thrown his way and had chances to score as well.

Darren Barr – 6

Should have dealt better with the cross for the Saints goal but otherwise solid.

Joe Thomson – 7

Looked lively and energetic in the middle of the park, shooting more often as well. Broke up play well a number of times, snuffing out the visitors’ attacking threat.

Grant Gallagher – 7

Did well with his midfield partner, and got the better of their opposite numbers.

Josh Todd – 7

Looked much better in his preferred number 10 position, faded when he was moved around in a reshuffle in the second half when he went back to the wing.

David Smith – 6

Supplied a pinpoint cross for the goal, but did little apart from that going forward.

Andy Stirling – 7

Scored the goal but was not tracking back to help Harvie and did not run at defenders when he had the ball.

Robert Thomson – 6

Had a number of chances that he should have done better with, but link-up play was good and imposed himself against the St Mirren centre backs.

Substitutes

Garry Fleming – 6

Brought energy on and looked to throw himself about.

Sam Stanton – 4

Little time on the pitch to impact the game.

Manager Stevie Aitken – 6

Aitken’s choice to play Josh Todd in the number 10 role looked to pay off, but Aitken moved him out to the wing and he completely faded. Had chances to win the game in the second half and this might be a game later on in the season that could cost them, especially against a currently struggling St Mirren side.
