Alan Martin — 7

One of the quieter games in goal for Martin so far this season. Didn’t have much to deal with in the first half, and apart from Queens effort towards the start of the second half, was not tested by the visitors’ attack.

Craig Pettigrew — 7

Had a bit of trouble dealing with Grant Anderson at the start of the game, but much improved from last week. Lapse of concentration in start of second half almost gave Queens the opener, but did enough to put off Rigg.

Daniel Harvie — 7

Much better going forward and winning more headers when the ball was played across to him. Always looking to attack as much as possible down the left flank.

Mark Docherty — 8

Vocal and organised defence well. Looks composed at the centre of defence alongside Barr and was always looking to support team mates.

Darren Barr — 8

Glorious chance to score in first half and dealt well playing through injury earlier in the week, and looked solid at the back with Docherty.

Josh Todd — 7

Much better going through the middle, catching people on the turn and driving runs forward.

Joe Thomson — 7

Did well breaking up the attacks and taking the sting out of Queens momentum, and was back to his best after last week’s outing at Raith.

Ryan Stevenson — 6

Some loose passing in the first half, with a number of passes going wide of the mark looking to force the attacking. Grew into the game as it went on.

David Smith — 7

Solid performance from the winger, and looked to cut inside whenever possible.

Sam Stanton — 8

Direct running and looked to take people on, linked up well with Stevenson and Robert Thomson numerous times on the left wing.

Robert Thomson — 7

Much improved from the striker this week. He was great holding play up, and had much more influence on play than in previous weeks.

Substitutes:

Andy Stirling — 5

Had little time to have an impact on the game.

Garry Fleming — 5

Came on late and had little chance to influence the tie.

Super Sons:

The Reporter’s Super Sons competition is hotting up, with more standout performances this week.

The Reporter will be rating the performance of the Dumbarton team for each match this season.

First place will receive 15 points, second place 10 points and third place five points.

The player with the most points at the end of the season will be anointed as the Super Son of the 2016-17 season.

As well as the points awarded after every game, Dumbarton supporters will also have the chance to influence the winner of the top prize.

After each quarter of the season we will ask you who has been your Super Son from that round of fixtures from a shortlist.

The winner of the fans’ vote will get an extra 15 points to their overall total.
