Dumbarton loanees Joe Thomson and Daniel Harvie say their game has come on leaps and bounds since joining the Sons this year.
Thomson, on loan from Celtic, has started every game he’s been fit in and Harvie, on loan from Aberdeen, has played every minute of Dumbarton’s league campaign so far.
And the pair have both enjoyed their spells at The Rock so far, with both players scoring in the 4-4 with Ayr on Saturday.
Thomson said: “I’ve loved it here, I’ve started every game I’ve been fit and the gaffa has had confidence in me and I’ve really enjoyed my time here and I couldn’t speak highly enough about the club and the setup.”
Harvie added: “I’ve loved it here, it’s a step up from playing in the under-20s from Aberdeen to playing in the first team in the championship’s great experience for me.
But I’ve loved every minute of it, the boy’s have been excellent from the minute I came in till now.”
“Playing against the bigger teams in the division, playing against the Dundee United’s, Hibs’ and Falkirk’s.
“Games like that going from games where nobody is watching you to a couple of thousand watching, and that’s it for me.
“A lot of my game has improved, just a wee bit of experience in my game and defensively it’s helped me here as well.
“There’s a lot that I can take back to Aberdeen to say that I’ve improved on.”
And with Thomson’s loan finishing on January 4, and Harvie’s ending on January 6, Dumbarton manager will be looking to extend their loans for the rest of the season.
But a lot of that is out of the Sons manager’s hands.
Speaking before Saturday’s game, he said: “Talks have been on-going this week, although there’s a lot of interest as the players have done really well.
“But it’s not down to us, it’s the clubs and the players and agents involved to see what’s best for them.
"The two players are really happy, they’ve enjoyed their time and hopefully we can continue it.”
