Elgin City 0 - 8 Dumbarton
Dumbarton 6 - 0 Dundee
Queen’s Park 0 - 5 Dumbarton
THE UNDER-14s have continued to impress in February, picking up right where they left off before the winter break.
What has particularly impressed coaches Alan Campbell and Craig Docherty is the Sons side have kept clean sheets in their last three games of the month while scoring 19 goals.
In particular the form of goalkeeper Colin Thomas and centre-half partnership of Connor O’Donnell and Connor Nicolson has created a strong spine to the team which has been key to their success in these games.
Dumbarton started off the month, however, with a 3-1 defeat to Morton, who were strong in the middle of the park and at centre-back who snuffed out any danger for the Sons frontmen.
Next up was an 8-0 thumping of Elgin City. Three goals from Brandon Docherty, a brace from Connor O’Donnell and goals from Jake Ruxton, Andy Dott and Brown.
The away team changed their formation numerous times throughout the game and kept a clean sheet.
There were also strong performances from Ethan Walsh, who was an integral part to three of the goals and Dott put in a strong shift in midfield, making tackles across the park and capping his good performance off with a fine goal.
The Sons followed that up with strong performances against Dundee and Queen of the South, with Brandon Docherty putting in his best performance to date with his second hat-trick of the week.
Corey O’Donnell responded well after being dropped against Elgin and scored a great goal from 18 yards out.
