Dumbarton are set to sign Aberdeen striker Joe Nuttall on an emergency loan deal until the end of the season.

Sons manager Stevie Aitken was keen to add to the squad with Christian Nade and Garry Fleming suspended for tomorrow's match against Morton.

Paperwork is still to be completed for the 20-year-old, but the club are hopeful of the deal going through in time for Saturday's game.

Aitken said: “It's always good to add to the squad, we're a wee bit short in terms of suspensions and potential injuries so it was the right thing to do.

“We're thankful to Derek [McInnes] and Aberdeen if it goes through, there's still a bit of work to be done for that.”

Nuttall was on loan at League One side Stranraer earlier in the season, scoring twice in nine appearances.
