Dumbarton boxer Martin Harkin’s proposed fight with Craig Kelly on September has been called off after the show was cancelled last week.

Organisers decided the event could no longer go ahead after Ryan Brawley, who was set to fight Willie Limond as the main event for the show, had to pull out due to injury.

Harkin now faces Kelly at the next St Andrew’s Sporting Club show on September 21.

Harkin was already scheduled to be on the undercard for Andrew MacKay’s rematch with Mark Laskowski’s Scottish Lightweight Title fight.

The first bout ended in a draw on June 9, with the judges unable to separate the two boxers on the night.

25-year-old Harkin has won his first four fights since turning professional last year, only losing one round on route.

The Dumbarton boxer is hoping to have at least one other fight before the end of the calender year.
