The talented judo stars from Alexandria’s Osaka Kwai have achieved further medal success at the Clyde Rumble Judo Competition.

The youngsters have taken home bronze, silver and gold at the event held on Sunday, October 8 at Park Main High School in Erskine.

Earlier this month, the Reporter revealed that the club had won top places at the prestigious Habari Kan competition in September and Sunday’s event gave the club even more reason to celebrate.

Seven judo players took part and each took home a medal.

Shay Vernon, aged nine, took home Bronze, Lewis McFarlane, aged eight and Sky Kane, aged 10, were each rewarded Silver medals and Darcy Millar (9), Liam Foy (8), Braydon Wright (8) and Adam McSporran (8) each took home gold medals from the competition.

Club coach Martin Granger who also attended the competition on Sunday, told the Reporter at the time: “We’re very proud, they all fought really well.

“They each had to fight four times and had to win each time to progress to the next round. For some it was their first ever competition and this was a major competition with people from all over Scotland and parts of England.”
