Kirktonhill tennis club is gearing up for a busy season of tournaments, competitions and social events by holding an open day.

The free event on April 22 promises to be a great opportunity for anyone with an interest in sport to get involved and try something new.

The open day starts at 1.30pm, but anyone is welcome to come along until 4pm.

As well as some social tennis and games, there will be the chance to check out the fantastic new club house facilities and enjoy a chat and refreshments.

Tennis racquets will be provided on the day and no previous tennis experience is required.

As West Dunbartonshire’s only tennis club, Kirktonhill's main focus is on encouraging as many people as possible to give tennis a go.

Junior coaching is already underway on Saturday mornings with three hour-long sessions starting with children aged nine and under at 10am.

Group two caters for children aged from 10 to 11 years and the last group is for older children.

Coaching is also open to non-members. Coaching for adult beginners and improvers is also due to start soon and anyone joining the club for the first time will get their first six lessons free.

The club is located on Dixon Avenue, Dumbarton, directly across from Levengrove Park.
