Dumbarton United 2005s will be playing in style next season after stadium sponsors C&G Sytems stepped in to offer a substantial contribution towards their new kits.

The squad were presented with the strips at the Rock last week by Sons players Andy Dowie and Kyle Hutton and the company’s commercial manager Andy Gordon.

Coach David Lavery shared the team’s gratitude after his social media call for sponsorship was answered

He said: “I posted an advert on our team’s Facebook page appealing for a sponsor for our strips.

“We are a new team and have only been going for a few months, so I was looking for any help we could get from a local business.

“Andy from C & G systems got in touch and told me a bit about their company. They are an expanding local company who do a lot of important work on the railway and he told me about their sponsorship with Dumbarton with them being the new sponsor for the stadium.

“The guys at C & G systems explained that they were keen to support local football both with Dumbarton FC and at grassroots level.

“The boys had a great morning. They are delighted with their new strips and are looking forward to our first season together in the Dunbartonshire Football Development League.”

Gordon said that he hoped that their sponsorship would encourage other local businesses in Dumbarton to help out in the same way.

He added: “As a local company have been extremely keen to engage with fans and the local community, and support the local community where we can through rail.

“When the opportunity arose to support local grassroots football with Dumbarton United 2005s, we were delighted to be able to support them in providing the kits.

“We also wanted to get a couple of the Dumbarton Players, who work for C&G Systems, along to present the kits which went down really well with the kids who were delighted.

“We hope that our enthusiasm will have a knock on effect to other local businesses to get behind our local team and support through sponsorship.”
