Loch Lomond minis and juniors rounded off a successful campaign at the weekend with their annual end of season presentation day well attended by all of the players and their families.

With the weather being kind on Sunday morning, the youngsters were rewarded for their hard work over the season with a BBQ, individual awards and fun and games for all in attendance.

Awards were presented to all players for their commitment to the club over the course of the season while there were also trophies for most improved player and player of the year up for grabs in all age groups from the P1s right up to the U14s.

The club’s special Rugby Spirit award, in memory of former coach Rab Cochrane, was won by Joshua Dee.

Andrew Taylor, meanwhile, lifted the top try scorer of the season award while Logan Flynn was named junior player of the year and Lewis Munn lifted the same award in the mini category.

An inspiration to all of the young players at the club, the awards were presented by former star Duncan Munn who learned his trade at Loch Lomond minis and juniors before going on to play for Glasgow and the West regional U16s, Glasgow Warriors U16s and Scotland Blues U16s.

Glasgow Warriors flags, calendars and signed rugby balls were also presented to all of the Lomond youngsters for their efforts, kindly donated to the club by Cameron House Hotel.

After the awards presentation, everyone enjoyed a relaxed BBQ, a selection of touch rugby games and obstacle races followed by the always-popular tug-of-war.

Training for the P1-7, U13 and U14s sides will continue over the summer on Monday from 6pm to 7pm while the U15s will continue to train on Wednesdays from 6.30pm to 8pm.

New players are always welcome to go along and try out the summer’s training sessions at Loch Lomond with the club on the lookout for new players in all age categories.
