Steven McDougall and Hugh Murray have secured moves to Clyde, while full back Kieran MacDonald has returned to Hamilton Accies following the conclusion of his loan spell.

Goalkeeper Danny Rogers has extended his loan spell at Dumbarton, Sons securing a deal with Aberdeen to keep the Ireland under-21 stopper until the end of the season.

McDougall spent two and half years at Dumbarton following a move from Dunfermline — however he found his first team appearances limited this season, despite a string of cameo performances from the bench.

Veteran midfielder Murray initially moved to Dumbarton on loan in August 2013, signing a permanent deal after Partick Thistle released him, Murray has been injured for part of the season and unable to force his way into Ian Murray’s plans.

These moves plus Chris Kane’s imminent departure back to St Johnstone will give Murray room in his budget to add to the squad during the transfer window.

Murray said: “Steven and Hugh want to play. Steven is emmigrating to Canada in the summer so he wants to play as much as possible before then which is fair enough and he probably wouldn’t be able to do that with us.

“Hugh Murray has got himself back fit and wants to play games and again we can’t guarantee him that so again it was best he moved on.

“They have both done fantastically well for us while they’ve been here.

“In terms of replacements we are not in a desperate rush we need to make sure we get the right ones in.

“We’ve got Danny until the summer now so it is good we have managed to sort that.”
