ST PATRICK’S progressed to the next round of the Central Scottish Cinema Cup, beating Clydebank AFC on penalties.
The game was full of industry but there was little scope for a flash of individual brilliance to break the deadlock.
With only 12 minutes on the clock the home side had their only chance of note, Mashimango firing high.
Then 10 minutes later a controversial decision when St Pats Danny Graham was brought down by Steven Bonn in the penalty area only for the referee to wave play on.
MacGilliveray, Ruane and Docherty all converted their penalties at the end and three super saves from Proctor got them into the next round. Thanks to the “Glen Lusset” and best wishes to Clydebank. St Pats attention now turns to a difficult midweek tie v Postal United and a League Cup tie on Saturday v Electric AFC.
St Pats: Proctor, King, Docherty, McIntyre, Allan, Ruane, Hannaway, Gardiner, Currie, Graham, MacGilliveray, Willis, Subs: Jermy, Deeley, McElroy.
