CAP CALL: Alan Cooks in action against Stirling Albion earlier this season

SONS youngster Alan Cooks was bursting with pride following his dream call-up to Scotland School's under-18 squad.

As reported in last week's Sport Scene, Cooks was selected for yesterday's (Monday) international clash with Australia, along with Dumbarton team-mates Daly McSorley and Liam Mushet.

But the winger revealed he can't wait to play against the Auld Enemy when Scotland take on England in April in the Centenary Shield tie.

Cooks told Sport Scene: "It is great to be called up for your country.

"It's good to know you are playing well for your club and it will be a great experience playing against good international sides.

"I am especially looking forward to playing against England as it is a big game and will be on Sky.

"You have to really take the chance when it comes in international football.

"Last year Scotland didn't have a great team at under-18 level but this year there are some good players in the squad."

Dumbarton's Second Division match with East Fife takes place at Methill on Saturday (kick-off at 3pm).
