ON TARGET: Dargo wheels away after scoring his first goal

TWO goal hero Craig Dargo has admitted he would love to still be at the Sons next season.

The veteran striker only joined the squad in March but has scored an incredible eight goals in just 12 appearances for the club.

And after his double strike set Dumbarton on the way to promotion on Sunday, the 34-year-old is hopeful that he will be part of the club's First Division adventure.

He told Sport Scene: "My own performance was irrelevant because the most important thing was the team performance and we got that today with the mentality levels and concentration levels high.

"It was a massive game and you can see what it means to both the players and the supporters - it's a great day.

"I've loved every of my time at the club and it's great to get into the play-offs and we have kicked on from there and we deserve to be promoted, it's as simple as that.

"We got three wins and a draw in the play-off matches, you can't ask for any more than that.

"I would love to be at the club next year and be a part of the First Division challenge.

"Nothing has happened so far, so we will just wait and see what happens.

"It's a great achievement and I will go and enjoy the night and we will take it from there."
