Last season Murray was named First Division manager of the year and Fleming sees no reason why his boss should not repeat the feat this year.

Fleming said: “I think the way he has changed the squad coming into this year, there is no reason he shouldn’t be pushing for manager of the year and all we can do is continue winning games for him.

“The way the gaffer and Jacko both go about training is brilliant for the boys.

“We are a good team, we have a good spirit about us and that comes from the gaffer and Jacko.” While Murray has worked his magic this season, Fleming himself was in fine form on Saturday, netting the Sons second goal.

He added: “The gaffer told us at half time to push on and I was glad to get on the scoresheet.

“I just touched the ball to the side and hit it.

“It has taken a slight deflection but I had a good angle to see it so I knew it was going to hit the far post and go in.

“That goal was my seventh of the season so now I am looking to push on and reach my target of double figures.”
