The experienced Frenchman joined Ian Murray and Jack Ross in the dugout for Saturday’s friendly with Edinburgh City, a match which was Ross’ last official involvement with the club before he joins Hearts.
Beuzelin, 35, enjoyed a successful playing career with Le Havre, AS Beauvais, Hibs, Coventry City, Hamilton and Olympiakos Nicosia before injuries forced him to hang up his boots in 2011.
Since retiring from playing Beuzelin has enjoyed a number of coaching roles with Falkirk, Stirling University and the SFA and he joins Dumbarton from Hibs, with whom he had been coaching within the club’s youth academy.
Ian Murray was delighted that Beuzelin will be joining him in the dugout, he told Sportscene: “Guillame is an experienced coach and has lots of playing experience at a high level.
“The players will find him enthusiastic and very approachable — he will fit in very well at the club.” Negotiatons should conclude this week, with the club expected to confirm his appointment before the weekend.
