Kirktonhill club brings Wimbledon to the Rock
MAKING A RAQUET: This set of kids enjoyed Saturday coaching sessions at the club
Kirktonhill Tennis Club will be bringing Wimbledon to Dumbarton on Saturday July 4 with an open family tournament to suit all ages.
Strawberries, cream and some fine tennis should be the order of the day as the many children who have attended the Spring coaching sessions compete alongside adults for the coveted finals prizes.
The tournament starts at 10am and is a perfect way for newcomers to the sport to test their skills and see if there are any young Andy Murrays just waiting to be discovered.
The tournament marks the start of a busy Summer at the club with three sessions of junior coaching on offer every Saturday right throughout the school holidays, starting on July 11.
Coaching for adult beginners is also available on Sundays.
Meanwhile the under-14 boys have completed their league matches.
Although they found the competition tough, the squad of Luke and Evan Dolman, Stephane Bouchard, Michael Cameron and Ian Muldoon competed extremely well and show immense promise for the future.
New members are always welcome at the club and for further infomation or a copy of the latest newsletter. Call Fiona on 01389 750688.
