Sons earn Honest win
DUMBARTON recorded their second successive home victory against high-flying Ayr United on Saturday.
The visitors played much of the game with only 10 men but made life difficult for the Sons throughout.
Interim manager Alan Adamson introduced former Albion Rovers and Annan Athletic winger Pat Walker as a trialist and he played a major role in this victory, scoring one and setting up another.
Adamson said after the game: "Even with 10 men, Ayr kept the ball well and showed why they are high in the league.
"Our young side showed a lot of drive and energy but when we had the chance to close the game out, we didn't retain possession as well as Ayr did .
"Obviously I am delighted with the result. My job is to try to take us up the league and out of trouble."
